Jonathan Li

Jonathan led business operations at Uber and Shopify. He launched Uber in Vancouver and built a data engineering team from 0 to 100 at Shopify. That means years of hard decisions and hard conversations, on both sides of the table.

Communication has been his craft since he was a kid. At 10, he was interviewed by CBC as the youngest contestant in a national English competition. He went on to become a 2x Canadian National Presentation Champion, and has built an audience of 200,000+ on one belief: if you can't tell your story, you won't be seen, no matter how capable you are.

That is normal, and it is why the group is small. You can change names and company details when you share. And if you prefer to listen, you can: Jonathan still gives you feedback on your situation after the session.

What language is it in?

English, with Chinese when it helps you explain something. You don't need perfect English to join.

Is it recorded?

No. People share real situations from work, so the room stays private.

Do I need my camera on?

Camera on is encouraged, but not required.
